Girls lose to Thunderhawks
The Lady Logan Trojans faced the #5 state ranked Wheatland/Grinnell Thunderhawks in Grainfield on Friday, February 17. The Thunderhawks are known for their aggressive full court press and it was certainly a part of the game on Friday. As a result of the press, the Trojans turned the ball over 22 times, and the Thunderhawks continually stretched their lead each quarter. At the end of the first quarter, the Trojans trailed by a mere four points and at half, the margin had grown to ten. The final score handed the Trojans a 32-49 loss. The Lady Trojans were hot from the 3-point line as they shot 5-12 (42%). They were led by Karlee Braun with 11 points, 2 steals and 2 assists. Camryn Greving pulled down 10 rebounds and Lexi Hilburn had 8. In JV action, the game was shortened to three quarters and the Thunderhawks handed the Trojans a difficult loss by the score of 10-42. Next week marks the last week of regular season play and therefore the last JV game of the year.
