High school Scholars' Bowl places 3rd

The Logan Varsity Scholars' Bowl team traveled to Cheylin High School Monday, Nov. 13 to participate in their 8 team invitational meet.  The Trojans ended with a record of 5-2.

They defeated Tri-Plains 60-10, Golden Plains 60-40, Heartland Christian 40-5, St. Francis 60-0 and Rawlins County 60-10.  They lost to Cheylin 20-50 and to Wheatland-Grinnell 0-30.  The Trojans finished in a 3-way tie for 2nd place with Rawlins County and Wheatland-Grinnell.  Since Logan defeated Rawlins County, Rawlins County defeated Wheatland-Grinnell, and Wheatland-Grinnell defeated Logan, a point spread was used to determine 2nd place.  Logan and Wheatland-Grinnell again tied for 2nd.  Since Wheatland-Grinnell defeated Logan in the head to head matchup, they were awarded the 2nd place medals and Logan received the 3rd place medals.

Scoring for the Trojans were Makenzie Jansonius with 120 points, Matt Kirkendall with 60 points, Riley Stockman with 60 points, Bodey LeRoux with 40 points, Tiffany Horn with 20 points and Elsie Prather with 10 points.

“The team had great chemistry, and I was very proud of their performance.  We were especially excited to defeat the first place team, Golden Plains,” said coach Laura Jansonius.  "Way to go Trojans!"
