Logan students perform well at WKLL Academic Contest

     On November 30, four students from each grade in Logan High School spent the morning taking standardized academic tests.  The subject areas of those tests were: Math, Social Studies, Reading, Science and Written Expression.  On that same day students from other nine schools in the Western Kansas Liberty League were taking the same tests.  Consequently, there were 40 students in each grade level taking each subject area test. 

      At the High School basketball game on January 27, Logan High School students who placed in the top three were honored during an awards ceremony.   The scores from all five of their individual subject areas were added together to obtain an overall score.  Individuals who placed in the top three of any subject area, as well as overall top three placers were acknowledged.  LHS earning that recognition were:

Seniors -      
Leamarie Edwards – 1st Science, 2nd Writing, 2nd Reading,  and 1st Social Studies and tied for 3rd OVERALL
Faith Hofaker –3rd Math, 2nd Science, 2nd Writing, 2nd Reading, 2nd Social Studies, and 1st OVERALL
Kayla Hofaker – 2nd Writing,
Josh Van Laeys – 1st Math
The seniors finished in 1st place in the league.

Juniors-        
Makenzie Jansonius – 1st Writing, 1st Reading, & 1st Social Studies
The juniors finished in 4th place in the league.

Sophomores – 
Matthew Kirkendall – 1st Math
Bodey LeRoux – 1st Science & 3rd Reading
The sophomores finished in 4th place in the league.

Freshmen              
The freshmen finished in 7th place in the league.

This year the Logan students finished second overall behind Wheatland/Grinnell.
