Coins for Christmas a success
Logan PreK-4th grade Elementary students and teachers wanted to show their love and support for the community. In 2 weeks they brought in all of their pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters to help make someone else’s Christmas special. Each classroom had a jar to collect the coins and as the jars became full the students then dumped their coins into one big jug. As the level of coins in the jar grew and grew, the teachers were amazed at the generosity of their students and parents. When all of the coins were counted, they had $596.61! They have been able to do more than they ever imagined! They gave each resident at the Manor and the Assisted Living a stuffed animal with a special Merry Christmas tag made by an Elementary student, provided donuts and snacks for the Manor employees, and helped several needy families in our area. Thank you so much Logan Elementary students and parents. You truly have shown what Christmas is all about! Also, a special thank you for Mr. Lonnie Jansonius and his high school classes who helped to count and roll the coins.
