Scholars' Bowl season comes to an end

On Thursday, Feb. 2, the Logan High School Scholars’ Bowl traveled to Natoma to participate in the KSHSAA 1A Div II Regional Scholars’ Bowl.  The Trojans had a round robin style with 11 teams in attendance.

Logan won their first round against Wilson, 45-35.  The Trojans faced Pawnee Heights winning 40-30.  Logan lost to Tescott 20-30, then beat Northern Valley 30-0.  The next match was against a very good Natoma team.  After the teams were tied at the end, five tie-breaker questions were needed with Natoma coming out on top 60-50.  Logan then went on to beat Stafford 35-10, Tipton 30-20, lost to Beloit-St. John’s 20-40, and finished out with wins against Palco 60-10 and Sylvan-Lucas 40-35.

Logan finished the day with a 7-3 record.  Wilson won the regional with an 8-2 record.  Logan, Beloit-St. John’s, and Natoma all finished with a 7-3 record.  St. John’s beat both teams, allowing them to finish runner-up, and Natoma beat Logan, so they were the third team to advance to State.  Logan finished 4th with the top 3 teams advancing to State.

Logan finishes the year with a varsity record of 43-11.  They were second in the Natoma Invite, they won the Osborne Invite, and were WKLL Champions.  This was a very successful season, and the seniors should be proud of all their accomplishments.
