LHS Scholars Bowl Team Makes Regional Finals
Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe LHS Scholars Bowl team travelled to Rexford on Thursday to compete in the 1A Regional competition. Fourteen teams competed. Prelims consisted of two pools of seven. Logan’s team of Zachary Jansonius, Jed Peace, Ian Sparks, Khloee Braun, and Dylan Van Laeys went 4-2. They defeated Northern Valley, Sharon Springs, Winona-Triplains, and Brewster. They were defeated by Wheatland by only 10 points and Atwood by only 20. Their record enabled them to advance to the finals with Atwood and Wheatland. The other pool advanced Thunder Ridge, Oberlin, and Golden Plains. The six team final was tough! The Trojans went 1-4, defeating Wheatland. They had another close match with Oberlin, only losing by 10. Oberlin was the Regional Champion with Atwood taking 2nd and Wheatland 3rd. Zachary was the leading scorer with 100. Jed, Ian, and Dylan all added 40 each and Khloee added 10. Congratulations to the LHS Scholars Bowl team on a good season!
